Florenz Juni 2019, stilvolle Gentlemen und Männermode soweit das Auge reicht. Zwei Mal im Jahr verwandelt sich die toskanische Stadt in DIE Modemetropole schlechthin. Es kommen Modeliebhaber und Labels aus aller Welt angereist, um sich zu inspirieren und natürlich die neusten Trends zu entdecken, bevor sie in die Läden kommen.
Kein anderer Ort ist so ein wichtiger Mittelpunkt für Männermode, wie die Pitti. Die Messeveranstaltung, die längst keine “normale” Messe mehr ist, hat ihre Wurzeln in den 50’ern und trägt seit 1988 den Namen Pitti.
Ich finde Florenz passt zu diesem Spektakel hervorragend, die italienischen Häuser, der südeuropäische Flair und die kleinen engen Gassen – alles ist abgestimmt auf den eleganten Stil der Männer.
Für mich ging es diesen Sommer bereits zum zweiten Mal auf die Pitti. So habe ich mich gefreut, viele bekannte aber auch neue Gesichter zu sehen. Es ist wie ein großes Community-Treffen, man freut sich zu networken, plaudern und gemeinsam neue Trends zu entdecken.
Auf der Pitti steht der Anzug in all seinen Formen und Variationen im Mittelpunkt, dabei interpretiert jeder Teilnehmer sein Verständnis von Gentleman Chic auf die eigene Art und Weise. Gerade deshalb, weil so viele kreative und modische Männer zusammen kommen, sieht man viele Inspirationen und ausgefallene Styles. Ins Auge gestochen sind in dieser Saison, die Liebe zu Erd-, Beige-, aber auch Pasteltönen, die Ton in Ton kombiniert wurden. Darüberhinaus stand gab es den locker leichten Leinenanzug oft zu sehen. Auf der Pitti gab es nicht nur Looks mit klassisch unifarbenen Hemden zu bestaunen, sondern auch exotische Prints und auffällige dicke und knallige Streifen waren an der Tagesordnung. Oft wurden die Hemden locker und lässig aufgeknöpft mit einem Shirt drunter zum Anzug kombiniert.
Accessoires und die Liebe zum Detail sind in Florenz essentiell und daher gab es auch hier klare Trends: Straw Boater Hüte, mit ihrem flachen und dünnen Erscheinungsbild, Leder Clutch Taschen und bei den Schuhen neben den klassischen Loafern die hippen aber dennoch edlen Slipper aus Leder.
Und natürlich hat man einem sehr wichtigen Modeereignis des Jahres – dem Tod des Modeikonen Karl Lagerfeld – auf der Pitti die verdiente Aufmerksamkeit schenken müssen. Karl Lagerfeld wurde mit einer Spezialausstellung und einer großen Graffiti-Leinwand gebürtig geehrt.
Natürlich will man in Mitten dieser Trends, auch an jedem der Tage perfekt gekleidet sein und seinen eigene Stil ausdrücken. Nicht leicht mit einem Mainstream Anzug von der Stange. Daher hatte ich dieses Jahr die Ehre mit einem maßgeschneiderten Anzug von MONOKEL Berlin auf die Pitti zu gehen.
Ich hätte niemals gedacht, dass ein maßgeschneiderter Anzug so etwas Besonderes ist. Dieser Anzug, der passgenau für mich und meinen Stil geschneidert wurde, verleiht mir große Individualität durch die vielen persönlich ausgesuchten Details. Da er auch wie angegossen passt, verleiht er ein unbeschreibliches und komfortables Tragegefühl.
Beim Kauf eines so persönlichen und hochwertigen Anzugs ist es sehr wichtig sich im Store wohl und gut aufgehoben zu fühlen. Ich persönlich finde es auch von Bedeutung, einen Berater zu haben, der nicht nur freundlich und erfahren ist, sondern auch ein Modeliebhaber ist. All diese Punkte und noch viel mehr, nämlich eine lockere und entspannte Atmosphäre hab ich im Münchner Store von MONOKEL Berlin erleben dürfen. Wie der Name erraten lässt, gibt es in Berlin die Stammfiliale. Nach dem zweiten Store in Riga ist es nun an der Zeit die bayrische Hauptstadt zu erobern.
MONOKEL Berlin ist ein Maßkonfektionär der neuen Art, hier steht Trend und Moderne im Vordergrund. Die coolen Jungs von Monokel sind sehr trendbewusst und bringen viel Expertise mit, sodass man sich von der ersten Sekunde an kompetent beraten und gut aufgehoben fühlt. Es gibt hier nicht nur Anzüge, sondern auch Hemden, Mäntel, Chinos und Jeans! nach Maß. Die passenden Accessoires wie Schuhe, Krawatten, Fliegen oder Anstecktücher bekommt ihr natürlich auch noch aus einer Hand und könnt den Shop mit einem kompletten Outfit verlassen. Die Marke schafft es auf die individuellen Bedürfnisse einzugehen, aber gleichzeitig Trend und hohe Qualität zu vereinen. Noch dazu zu einem fairen Preis.
Ich möchte meine persönliche Erfahrung und den Weg zu meinem individuellen Anzug mit euch teilen. Ich denke, es ist für viele hilfreich, die sich schon länger überlegen den ersten Maßanzug anzulegen, zu wissen, wie der Ablauf bis zum fertigen individuellen Produkt bei Monokel aussieht.
Bereits beim Betreten des Stores hat mir der clean, dezent und minimalistisch gehaltenen Interior sehr zugesagt. Man wird hier freundlich und herzlich begrüßt und findet sich sofort in einer lässigen und coolen Atmosphäre wieder. Man fühlt sich hier nicht wie ein Kunde eines Geschäfts, nein man fühlt sich hier in erster Linie wie der Gast von den Jungs von Monokel. Es scheint hier alles sehr ungezwungen und sehr familiär. Man startet ins “Beratungsgespräch” mit einem netten Kennenlern-Talk und einem kühlen Drink. Das Wichtigste ist, dass man sich wohl fühlt.
Gleich beim ersten Termin war ich überwältigt von dem was man alles an einem Anzug individuell und kreativ gestalten kann. Hier trifft das Motto “It’s all about details” perfekt zu. Man kann die Knöpfe, das Innenfutter, die Nähte, die Knopfleiste, die Farbe der Nähte, das Revers und vieles mehr selber gestalten bzw. aussuchen. Es macht wirklich viel Spaß sich durch die möglichen Schnitte und Stoffmuster und Co. Schritt für Schritt unter der Leitung und Expertise der Modefachmänner in Richtung des fertigen individuellen Anzugs durchzuarbeiten.
Ich habe mich für einen sommerlichen Leinenanzug in beige-grau mit hellen Streifen entschieden. Das passende Hemd habe ich anschließend auch zusammen mit dem MONOKEL Team gestaltet, hier gab es ein sommerliches leichtes Hemd in creme.
Anschließend wird Maß genommen, bedeutet man wird rundum vermessen, damit der Anzug später auch perfekt sitzt. Dann heißt es nur noch gespannt und mit großer Vorfreude auf den Anzug warten. Aber keine Angst, die Anzüge von MONOKEL Berlin sind schneller gefertigt und im Store zur Anprobe als man es glauben mag. Bereits nach 3 Wochen habe ich die Einladung zur Anprobe erhalten. Voller Neugierde bin ich dann natürlich so schnell wie möglich zur Anprobe erschienen.
Als ich mich das erste Mal im kompletten Outfit vor dem Spiegel sah, war alles Realität geworden. Alles worüber man vor drei Wochen noch gesprochen hat, alle Details die man sich gewünscht hat, sind nun alle umgesetzt und ich war so glücklich. Der Anzug passt wie angegossen. Irgendwie ist es ein unheimlich tolles Gefühl einen Anzug zu tragen, von dem man weiß, dass er wahrscheinlich in dieser Variante ein Unikat ist – individuell für mich geschneidert. Wow! Bei Bedarf werden noch kleinere Anpassungen direkt vor Ort im Store erledigt.
Kommen wir mal zum ersten Tragegefühl meines maßgeschneiderten Anzugs. Noch nie, wirklich noch nie, saß ein Anzug vom ersten Moment an so perfekt und komfortabler wie dieser hier. Nicht nur die Optik, sondern auch wirklich das Gefühl in dem Anzug ist anders. Er sitzt eben wirklich wie angegossen, ohne zu zwicken oder schlabbrig zu sein. Insbesondere die Hose und die Ärmel des Sakkos sitzen perfekt. Welcher Mann kennt es denn nicht, wenn die Hose plötzlich beim Sitzen oder sich Bücken spannt und die Oberschenkel einengt oder der Sakko einen daran hindert seine Arme frei zu bewegen. All diese Probleme gibt es hier nicht. Alles passt, wie es passen soll.
Selbst auf der Pitti, bei 30 Grad und mehr, habe ich durch die qualitativen leichten Sommerstoffe und den perfekten Schnitt nicht geschwitzt und hatte eine komfortable Zeit. Der Stoff ist nicht zerknittert, wie man es sonst von Leinen kennt, sondern war nahezu perfekt gebügelt wie zur ersten Stunde. Das Hemd hat mich durch seinen luftigen Stoff nicht zum Schwitzen gebracht und so hatte ich einen perfekten ersten Tag auf der Pitti und konnte mich ohne Bedenken für die vielen Fotografen in Pose werfen.
Natürlich wurde ich auch oft zu meinem Style angesprochen und der maßgeschneiderte Anzug hat viel hergemacht. Ich kann es euch sehr empfehlen mal den Vergleich eines maßgeschneiderten Kleidungsstücks zu testen. Ihr werdet es lieben! Florence June 2019, stylish gentlemen and men’s fashion as far as the eye can see. Twice a year the Tuscan city is transformed into THE fashion metropolis par excellence. Fashion lovers and labels from all over the world come here to inspire themselves and, of course, to discover the latest trends before they come into the shops.
No other place is as important a centre for men’s fashion as Pitti. The trade fair event, which has long since ceased to be a “normal” trade fair, has its roots in the 50’s and has been called Pitti since 1988.
I think Florence is a perfect match for this spectacle, the Italian houses, the southern European flair and the small narrow streets – everything is coordinated with the elegant style of the men.
For me it was the second time this summer that I went to the Pitti. So I was happy to see many familiar but also new faces. It’s like a big community meeting, you enjoy networking, chatting and discovering new trends together.
At Pitti, the focus is on the suit in all its forms and variations, with each participant interpreting their understanding of gentleman chic in their own way. It is precisely because so many creative and fashionable men come together that one sees so many inspirations and unusual styles. This season, the love of earth, beige and pastel tones, combined tone-in-tone, has caught the eye. In addition, the loosely light linen suit was often to be seen. On the Pitti there were not only looks with classically plain shirts to marvel at, but also exotic prints and striking thick and loud stripes were the order of the day. The shirts were often loosely and casually unbuttoned and combined with a shirt underneath the suit.
Accessories and attention to detail are essential in Florence and therefore there were clear trends here too: Straw Boater hats with their flat and thin appearance, leather clutch bags and, in addition to the classic loafers, hip yet elegant leather slippers in the shoes.
And of course, one of the most important fashion events of the year – the death of fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld – had to be given the attention it deserved at Pitti. Karl Lagerfeld was honoured with a special exhibition and a large graffiti canvas.
Of course, in the midst of these trends, one wants to be perfectly dressed on every day and express one’s own style. Not easy with an off-the-shelf mainstream suit. So this year I had the honour of going to the Pitti with a tailor-made suit from MONOKEL Berlin.
I never thought a tailor-made suit would be so special. This suit, which was tailor-made for me and my style, gives me great individuality through the many personally chosen details. Since it also fits like a glove, it gives an indescribable and comfortable wearing feeling.
When buying such a personal and high-quality suit, it is very important to feel comfortable and in good hands in the store. Personally, I also find it important to have a consultant who is not only friendly and experienced, but also a fashion lover. I was able to experience all these points and much more, namely a relaxed atmosphere in the Munich store of MONOKEL Berlin. As the name suggests, there is a regular branch in Berlin. After the second store in Riga it is now time to conquer the Bavarian capital.
MONOKEL Berlin is a tailor of a new kind, here trend and modernity are in the foreground. The cool guys from Monokel are very trend-conscious and bring a lot of expertise with them, so that you feel well advised and in good hands right from the start. There are not only suits here, but also shirts, coats, chinos and jeans! made to measure. The matching accessories such as shoes, ties, bow ties or brooches are of course also available from a single source and you can leave the shop with a complete outfit. The brand is able to respond to individual needs, but at the same time combine trend and high quality. And at a fair price.
I would like to share my personal experience and the way to my individual suit with you. I think it is helpful for many people who have been thinking about putting on their first made-to-measure suit for some time, to know how the process looks like until the finished individual product at Monokel.
The clean, discreet and minimalist interior already appealed to me when I entered the store. You are greeted here warmly and friendly and immediately find yourself in a casual and cool atmosphere. You don’t feel like a customer of a shop, no, you feel like a guest of the guys from Monokel. Everything here seems very informal and very familiar. You start the “consultation” with a nice get-to-know talk and a cool drink. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable.
Right at the first appointment I was overwhelmed by all the individual and creative things you can do with a suit. Here the motto “It’s all about details” applies perfectly. You can design or choose the buttons, the lining, the seams, the button placket, the colour of the seams, the lapel and much more. It is really a lot of fun to work your way through the possible cuts and fabric patterns and co. step by step under the guidance and expertise of the fashion experts towards the finished individual suit.
I decided on a summery linen suit in beige-grey with light stripes. I then designed the matching shirt together with the MONOKEL team, who gave me a light summer shirt in cream.
Then the measurements are taken, which means you are measured all around so that the suit fits perfectly later on. Then all we have to do is wait for the suit with excitement and anticipation. But don’t worry, the suits from MONOKEL Berlin are made faster and can be tried on in the store than you might think. Already after 3 weeks I received the invitation for the fitting. Full of curiosity I appeared as soon as possible for the fitting.
When I first saw myself in the complete outfit in front of the mirror, everything had become reality. Everything you talked about three weeks ago, all the details you wished for, are now all implemented and I was so happy. The suit fits like a glove. Somehow it is an incredibly great feeling to wear a suit that you know is probably unique in this version – individually tailored for me. Wow! If necessary, even smaller adjustments can be made on site in the store.
Let’s get to the first wearing feeling of my tailor-made suit. Never, really never, has a suit sat as perfectly and comfortably as this one from the very first moment. Not only the look, but also the feeling in the suit is different. It really fits like a glove, without pinching or being slabbery. Especially the trousers and the sleeves of the jacket fit perfectly. Which man doesn’t know it when the trousers suddenly tighten while sitting or bending down and the thighs narrow or the jacket prevents one from moving his arms freely. All these problems do not exist here. Everything fits how it should fit.
Even on the Pitti, at 30 degrees and more, I didn’t sweat due to the qualitative light summer fabrics and the perfect cut and had a comfortable time. The fabric is not crumpled, as you usually know it from linen, but was almost perfectly ironed like at the first hour. The shirt didn’t make me sweat because of its airy fabric and so I had a perfect first day on the Pitti and could pose for the many photographers without hesitation
Of course, I was also often asked about my style and the tailor-made suit made a lot of difference. I can highly recommend you to test the comparison of a tailor-made garment. You will love it!
